Azimova Elvira Abilkhasimovna was born on February 15, 1973.
Graduated from the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yassawi (1996) with a degree in International Law.
Career
She started her career in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where she worked as a leading consultant, chief consultant of the Department of International Legal Support of the Ministry of Justice (1996-1999). She held different leading positions in the departments of legislation, international law and protocol of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1999-2005). Headed the Department of By-laws and International Law, Protection of property rights of the state, contracts and claim work of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2005-2010). She held the position of Director of the Department of Expertise of International Treaties of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2010-10.2013). She held the post of Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (02.10.2013-09.2019). She was the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan (02.09.2019-01.01.2023). She was a member of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (18.09.2021) and a member of the National Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (17.05.2022). Appointed to the post of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 01.01.2023).
