The Center for Political and Constitutional Studies (Madrid) has published online a book “Rule of law, democracy and globalization. An approach to the Venice Commission on its XXX anniversary”.
The preparation of this volume was a joint initiative of the Venice Commission, the Permanent Representation of Spain to the Council of Europe and the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies to promote in the Spanish speaking world the knowledge of the Venice Commission and its approach to the challenges of the rule of law, democracy and globalisation.
The book focusses on the context and circumstances of the Commission’s creation in 1990 and the most important aspects of its current activity as a consultative body of the Council of Europe in the field of the constitutional law.
This volume has been published (online only) by the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies (CEPS) in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the CEPC and the Venice Commission on 9 December 2020, which covers both issuing of publications as well as other activities to promote and develop the analysis of matters related to democracy, the rule of law and the separation of powers, as well as reflection on fundamental rights, constitutional justice, political systems or representative democracy, through the co-organisation of seminars and scientific meetings.
