In the framework of the preparation of the draft joint opinion of the Venice Commission and the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law (DGI) on the draft law on the Supreme Court of Justice, the rapporteurs and experts met online with the representatives of the following stakeholders:
• Minister of Justice and the representatives of the Ministry of Justice
• Supreme Court of Justice
• Parliamentary Legal Commission on Appointments and Immunities, parliamentary majority and opposition
• Pre-vetting Commission
• Association of Judges
• International organisations and NGOs.
This draft joint opinion is prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism within the framework of the EU/CoE joint programme Partnership for Good Governance, co-funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 132nd Plenary session of the Commission (21-22 October 2022).
