The Government of Portugal has made a voluntary contribution of €170 000 to support:
- the European Court of Human Rights,
- the European Centre for global interdependence and solidarity of the Council of Europe (“North-South Centre”),
- the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026,
- the Council of Europe Neighbourhood Partnership with Tunisia 2022-2025,
- the activities of the Venice Commission, as well as
- the Strasbourg European Youth Centre renovations and improvements to the accessibility and inclusiveness of youth activities.
The part of the voluntary contribution earmarked for the Venice Commission constitutes €10.000.
The agreement was signed on 7 March 2023 by Ambassador Gilberto Jerónimo, Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of Europe, and Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General.
