Special meeting of the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC)

Council of Europe, Strasbourg - At the invitation of the Council of Europe, the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) will hold a special meeting on the theme of prevention of terrorism from 19 to 21 April 2011 at the Palais de l'Europe in Strasbourg, France.
International, regional and sub-regional organizations will be invited to join members of the Security Council Counter Terrorism Committee and the Council of Europe in discussing preventive policies and measures. Aimed at speeding up international efforts to fight terrorism, the three-day meeting will focus on
1. prevention policies,
2. comprehensive and integrated strategies, and
3. the role of law enforcement and the criminal justice system in preventing terrorism.
Professor I.Cameron, Swedish member of the Venice Commission, participates in the meeting and moderates the 2nd session of the Working group 2 on Comprehensive and Integrated Strategies entitled “Communication in the prevention of terrorism“ which takes place on 20.04.2011 at 10h00 (Room2, Palais de l’Europe).
