Obituary – Professor Vojin Dimitrijevic, member of the Venice Commission in respect of Serbia

Belgrade - Vojin Dimitrijevic, member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe in respect of Serbia, Professor of Public International Law, Doctor of Law honoris causa, Director of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, has passed away on 5 October 2012 at the age of 81.

Professor Dimitrievic was an active member of the Commission: he was one of the authors of several general studies issued by the Venice Commission; he was co-rapporteur of the Commission’s opinions relating to Georgia, Hungary and Russia. Kind and responsive, professor Dimitrijevic contributed to the Commission’s work till the very end, participating in missions and seminars on behalf of the Commission.
