Assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic in the electoral field

Bishkek – Experts of the Venice Commission participated in several meetings in the electoral field in Bishkek from 16 to 19 May 2017. The meetings took place in the framework of the project “Support to Strengthening Democracy through Electoral Reform in the Kyrgyz Republic” with funding provided by the European Union.
The experts of the Venice Commission shared with the project beneficiaries their experience on a number of issues such as complaints mechanism, international standards in the electoral field, participation of political parties in elections as well as the role of media in the electoral process. The workshops was followed by a Round table to discuss the National Strategy 2040 concerning electoral reform with a wide range of stakeholders.
