Albania – workshop on the new voting technologies

Tirana – An expert of the Venice Commission participated in a workshop of the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee on Electoral Reform on new voting technologies which was organised with the support of the OSCE Presence in Albania.
This workshop brought together the Co-chairs and members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Electoral Reform, the Chair and members of the Central Election Commission, representatives of the CSOs and international organisations present in Tirana as well as national and international experts on new voting technologies. Participants discussed, on the basis of the report prepared by an expert of the Venice Commission, different options for the introduction of the new voting technologies in the Albanian electoral system.
The participation of the Venice Commission’s expert in this workshop was financed by the "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", a joint programme funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
