72nd meeting of the Council for Democratic Elections

Venice, Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista/online - The Council for Democratic Elections (CDE) approved the draft amicus curiae Brief on the competence of the Constitutional Court of Albania regarding the validity of the local elections held on 30 June 2019 and the draft Joint Opinion on the 2020 amendments to the electoral legislation of Hungary prior to the adoption of these documents by the Commission’s plenary session.

The CDE was informed about the Venice Commission’s activities in the electoral field carried out between the 71 and 72nd meetings. The participants were equally informed about the preparations for the 18th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies, dedicated to "Lessons learned from the impact of the COVID-19 health crisis on electoral processes", to take place online on 2019 October 2021.
