Revised Law on the Information and Intelligence Service of Moldova - Request for opinion

Following a request from the Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova, Mr Marian Lupu, to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, the Venice Commission was asked to provide its opinion on the revised Law on the Information and Security (Intelligence) Service.

This Law, already adopted in 1999, was substantially amended by Parliament on 22 July 2005.

The expertise will be carried out jointly with an expert designated by the Directorate General of Legal affairs.

The Venice Commission is due to adopt its opinion at its 66th session to take place on 17-18 March 2006 in Venice.
