Skopje - A the request of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Venice Commission ensures legal assistance to the Election Observation Mission of the Assembly in the context of the presidential elections of 13 April 2014.
A 21-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly, headed by Mr Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), visits the country from 11 to 14 April to observe the conduct of the presidential election, alongside observers from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the OSCE.
The delegation is due to meet the candidates in the election or their representatives, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, civil society and media representatives, before observing the ballot on 13 April.
