118th Plenary session of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe

Venice, Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista - In its first plenary session of 2019, the Venice Commission adopted the opinion on the introduction of a separate system of administrative courts in Hungary. Hungarian Justice Minister László Trócsányi attended the session on Friday 15 March.

Other adopted opinions concern the revision of Luxembourg’s constitution, legal provisions on the relationship between the prosecution and the police in Georgia and on the Judicial Council of North Macedonia.

The Venice Commission also adopted four thematic texts concerning: principles to protect and promote the Ombudsman Institution (“the Venice Principles”); guidelines on freedom of assembly jointly drawn up with the OSCE; funding of NGOs and other associations and term limits of MPs, governors and mayors.
