In the framework of the preparation of an opinion on three legal questions in the context of the draft constitutional amendments concerning the mandate of the judges of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, a delegation of the Venice Commission held a series of videoconference meetings with the representatives of the Constitutional Court, of three parliamentary fractions including the opposition, with the Chairperson of the State and Legal Committee of the Parliament, the Minister of Justice and the diplomatic community in Erevan as well as representatives of civil society organisations.
The draft opinion, requested by the Minister of Justice, will be submitted to the Venice Commission for examination and adoption in June 2020 by a written procedure.
