On 27 July 2022, the Minister of Justice of Bulgaria requested an opinion of the Venice Commission on the draft amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Judicial System Act aimed to enhance the accountability mechanisms for the Prosecutor General as well as to improve the general safeguards in the domestic criminal justice system.
The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 132nd Plenary session of the Commission (21-22 October 2022).
