Chisinau - In the framework of the preparation of the opinion on amendments to the Audiovisual Media Services Code and to some normative acts including the ban on symbols associated with and used in military aggression actions, the Venice Commission’s rapporteurs met with the following interlocutors:
• the President of Parliament;
• the Parliamentary Committees on culture, education, research, youth, sports and mass-media and on national security, defence and public order;
• the Parliamentary Faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists ;
• the Audiovisual Council;
• the Constitutional Court;
• the Office of the Prosecutor General ;
• the Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia;
• the Supreme Court of Justice ;
• representatives of civil society.
The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 132nd Plenary session of the Commission (21-22 October 2022).
This opinion is prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism within the framework of the EU/CoE joint programme Partnership for Good Governance, co-funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
