Tbilisi – In the framework of the preparation of the draft joint opinion on the amendments to the Election Code of Georgia, the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, met with the representatives of the following interlocutors:
• Central Election Commission,
• Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Head of the Working Group on the Revision of Electoral Code of the Legal Issues Committee, and other representatives of majority and opposition political groups and parties,
• Parliamentary Secretary of the President of Georgia and his Deputy,
• State Audit Office,
• NGOs and international community.
The draft opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 133rd Plenary Session on 16-17 December 2022.
This opinion is prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism (QRM), in the framework of the EU/CoE joint programme Partnership for Good Governance, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
