GEORGIA – Request for opinions

By letter of 22 September 2023, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament requested the Venice Commission to examine the following legal texts:

- Draft amendments to the Election Code and the Rules of Procedure of the Georgian Parliament;
- Law on the Special Investigation Service;
- Provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection on the Personal Data Protection Service;
- Provisions of the Law on the Fight against Corruption on the Anti-Corruption Bureau;

The relevant draft opinions will be submitted for adoption by the 137th plenary session of the Venice Commission (15-16 December 2023).
They will be prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism (QRM), in the framework of the EU/CoE joint programme Partnership for Good Governance, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
